Set up your email on a phone or desktop

The quickest way to get the correct settings is from cPanel itself:

  1. Log in to cPanel and open Email Accounts
  2. Find the mailbox and click Connect Devices
  3. Choose your device or mail program, or use the manual settings shown on that page

That page always shows the correct server names and ports for your account, which is safer than copying settings from elsewhere.

Two tips that prevent most problems: use IMAP rather than POP if you read mail on more than one device, so everything stays in sync. And always leave SSL/TLS enabled - do not switch it off to fix a connection error, as that sends your password unencrypted.

If mail will not connect, open a ticket with the exact error message.
