What to include when you report a problem

The detail you provide up front usually determines how quickly we can fix something. Without it, our first reply is a request for more information, which costs a round trip.

Please include:

  • The domain name affected
  • The exact error message, copied out or as a screenshot
  • What you were doing when it happened
  • When it started, and whether it worked before
  • Who else is affected - just you, or everyone
  • What has changed recently - an update, a new plugin, a DNS change, a password change

That last point matters more than people expect. Problems rarely appear from nowhere, and knowing what changed usually points straight at the cause.

If the issue is intermittent, tell us the times you noticed it so we can match it against the logs.
